We want to share with you the wonderful news that our baby girl Emmalyn Grace (Emmy) has been with us for a little more than a week and we have cherished the amazing, blissful, love-filled transition that our lives have taken. We are forever changed because of a new little life added to our family and we feel extremely grateful to God that He has brought her here healthy and safe and that He has been our Refuge and Strength in what can be a trying and tiring time of the birth and first week with a baby!
We stand in awe of Him because of how He has cared for us in these tender and vulnerable moments not only with His presence and encouragement, but also through loving hands and words of those around us. We have experienced something truly special and that's when the body of Christ comes alongside ones who are in need and lifts them up in prayer and serves them in practical ways (like how many have brought meals, done grocery store trips and even done our laundry and dishes!). It's humbling to be receiving the love that we have been generously extended from our friends, family and church. We know that many challenges lie ahead as we strive to raise our little ones in the Lord and we will continue to rely on our Father's strength and His care in this amazing and beautiful role of parenthood.
"He will tend His flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; He will carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those that are with young." Isaiah 40:11
