A group of kids from the Saturday market that is in the same neighborhood as El Camino (the contact center/church building) has been coming to El Camino and getting to know us. While their parents sell in the market, their kids come to El Camino for couple of hours in the morning and again in the afternoon. Usually, the kids range from 8 to 13. It has been a good time with these kids as we evangelize to them through stories of Christ and through songs. They like it and are enjoying the time as they learn to sing and pray.
The kids, although they are never still and are hyperactive, are also humble, gentle and let us teach them about God. We also want to help them learn to read as this is a dysfunction in this society especially with lower income families. There are little formed habits as it comes to reading.
We ourselves are in the season of having young kids and this is why we are more in this side of ministry- with kids. It is a good experience to be spending time with the kids of this society and we have been able to meet some of their parents and we tell them about what we are doing in El Camino.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
