In the women's class on Tuesdays, we finished a series on the first part of Exodus (chapters 1-14). As we saw God's power, His saving hand and different people's reaction to God and to the circumstances, we sought to see how our own lives reflect certain aspects, the "gods" we give power to and how God steps into our lives. As I thought about starting a new series, I've been listening to my brother's sermons on youtube and have really enjoyed his latest series on the Gospel through Isaiah. I decided to give a class here for the Tuesday ladies based on his sermons. We've only done two classes but so far it has been really good for the women here.
I also have had three different groups through zoom going on since Abril. One has been pretty on going for about 3 years now and in English, but the other two have been for the women in Bolivia. They have been on emotional and spiritual health. It's amazing how many of us live in a place where we don't consider the health of our emotions and don't realize how much that effects our mental and spiritual state and our decisions. It's not easy work and for the two groups in Bolivia a lot of it has brought up a very different way of looking at things. I hope the women will continue in this work as they can in their lives. All three groups will be finishing up their topics this month and I will see if people want to take a break, stop or go into a new session/class.
I was able to visit Fatima and her family twice this month. Her nieces were in town and she wanted me to come and talk to them about the Bible. Some of Fatima's siblings and spouses where also there. Another day I went over and taught them how to make two different types of lasagna and we got to talk some more. They had heard Pilar play praise music on the guitar during one of our church lunches and asked her to come and play/sing. Pilar was very nervous but I'm really proud of her for doing it. She's getting good and I love to see her liking it and gaining confidence.
My girls are doing well. Catalina learned to ride a bike this week. The first day I questioned how my back was going to handle being bent over for days as she learned, but she was doing great the first day and by the second was on her own. She can't always get herself started and the bike only has hand breaks (which are very stiff) so she only knows how to stop by dragging her feet or running into something, but she is getting the hang of it and loving it.
Bolivia is having a hard time with its economy, gas/petrol and government. Things were building but calmed down again before much more than blockades had happened but everyone is waiting for it to build again. Please pray for the country, it's leaders and it's people. Especially pray that God's hope and salvation will be sought and accepted.
Grace and peace as we rest in Him.
