The whole team made a trip to visit the church in Sucre. We were there for two week for the purpose of encouraging them. We went on the 14th of Sept. and returned the 28th.
We spent different kinds if times with them. We had devotionals and just got together with small and larger groups and we did a seminar about keeping your eyes on Christ. For the three day seminar we touched on 1) seeing Christ with humility, 2) seeing Christ in your brothers and sisters in Christ, and 3) seeing Christ in the world. This seminar took place at night and was in-person and by zoom.
(We had times at night when we got together to sing praises, pray and read from the Word)
I spoke on the first topic- seeing Christ with humility and not with pride. I spoke of the need to see how Christ acted with the people. He was always helping and showed understanding and empathy and showing interest for the people around Him. He transmitted humility and the people wanted to be with Him. The sought Him out and delighted in His presence as He blessed them spiritually and physically. He gave so much love to the people when He healed, when He forgave and when He fed them. This impacts me because it opens my eyes to give to the people around me, to listen to them, help them with my words, encourage them, pray for them and share good with them.
I also had the opportunity to study the Bible with three of the younger youths. They are three cousins and all of them decided to give their lives to Christ. It was a really good and blessed time visiting our family in Sucre. We were encouraged a lot by our time with everyone after being away fir a year and a half. Their lives blessed us in a great way.
(The three girls got baptized on Sunday with their family and the church family present.)
We could see how God has caused the seed that was planted in their hearts to grow.
Isaiah 55:9-11 “ As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
God bless you, our brothers and sisters in Christ.
