What is impossible for man is possible for God

We met Don Julio along when he came into El Camino in 2022. His sociable, enthusiastic, and always positive attitude seemed pleasant. Due to his enthusiasm, he was studying law at university at the age of 70. He had led a very hectic life in the past and was paying the price of living alone due to the breakdown of his marriage and family relationships. At his advanced age, he didn't want to give up on the opportunity to pursue a professional degree.
The whole team developed a beautiful friendship with him. He became part of the church even before he was baptized; we all saw him as part of the Christian community. It's a learning experience for me, because we usually want to see them obey the gospel first, before we see them as part of the church.
And like every new person who comes to the Church, there are ups and downs in their way of life. Sometimes, they continued to show their faith in Catholic tradition, fulfilling their promise to walk for hours in processions to the Virgin of Chaguaya once a year, a place outside of Tarija where there is a statue.
Personally, I thought it was impossible for Don Julio to be baptized and give his life to Christ; but God taught me once again that I must believe in His power to change lives.
This year, his health has been failing, and since he lived alone and didn't have enough money to support himself, we decided to give him lodging at the church, which was a great blessing to him. His health declined sharply, and he could no longer even walk easily.

One day we were talking, and he expressed that the situation he was going through had deeply affected him; he was worried about dying. So I asked him if he had thought about professing his faith in Christ and committing his life to him, he agreed and agreed to be baptized, asking when he could do so.
It was a moment to thanksgiving to God. The entire team had spoken with him over the years about his salvation; the time had come to see the fruit of God in his life.
Luke 18:27 "What is impossible with men is possible with God," Jesus said.
