Winter Vacation

During this winter vacation, my girls and I went to Sucre and Cochabamba. I would love to visit the church in Sucre more often but because of the girls being in school we usually can only make it once a year. When we go, I try to make the most of the time and visit with as many as possible and give a class or two if they want. The Sucre church is doing well. They miss having full time ministers but are working together to encourage one another and continue forward. I was able to give two classes while I was there. One directed more to parenting adolescence and the other about our identity in Christ. The girls had fun as Pilar got to spend time with her old friends and Catalina made some new friends.

In Cochabamba we went to see the dentist (not so fun but necessary) and Catalina was able to meet up with her friend who was adopted at the same time she was. We only got to see her friend for a couple of hours but it was good for them to reconnect. I also gave a class to the women in Cochabamba.

In both Sucre and Cochabamba we visited the orphanages where the girls used to live. Some remembered the girls and it was good to express our gratitude for the work they do. It's also sad to see so many without families.

"Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor, Obtain justice for the orphan, Plead for the widow’s case." Isa. 1:17

Since returning home, Catalina and I have had a cough that has been lingering but thankfully the schools announced a week more of vacation due to a measles outbreak in Santa Cruz. Hopefully by the time school starts on Monday we will be better. Please continue to pray for Catalina's paperwork and for the elections that are coming up next month.
